We wanted to thank you again for your tremendous hospitality during our recent stay. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you, partaking in your delectable chef selections and excellent wine suggestions! You obviously love what you are doing! The Inn & Spa were also fabulous. We wanted you to know just how great your staff is...from the bellboy, to the massage therapists, to our young waiter...everything was top notch and the attention to detail was impressive. All in all we had a truly romantic weekend. We will be back again soon for sure! What an unforgettable evening! Your warm welcome, the magnificent ambience of the Manor House, beautifully presented and incredibly delicious food and Joe’s impeccable and attentive care made my birthday celebration the very best ever! Thank you, thank you for all you did to create such a magical evening. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
"We just wanted to extend our thanks to everyone who made us feel so welcome this weekend. My husband and I came to get away from the rigors and stress of our hectic lives to celebrate our second anniversary. We couldn't have come across a better setting for exactly what we were seeking. The whole experience at Poplar Springs was positive. Santiago is to be commended for his upbeat attitude and willingness to meet the needs of the guests. He was so warm and full of personality, and I enjoyed practicing Spanish with him. He truly made us feel welcome. John at the front desk, Pierre and Julian and the entire staff at the Manor House were such a pleasure to meet. Thank you once again for making our stay one of the best away from home experiences we have ever had. We intend to spread the word to our friends about Poplar Springs and The Manor House, and we hope to return at least once a year ourselves. One of our fondest recollections of the weekend was lounging by the pool and spa and meeting the other guests who had also chosen to spend the weekend. The fresh fruit sangria was a refreshing treat as was the company and the atmosphere in the pool area, we have to mention our gratitude for the finest dining experience we have ever had in The Manor House." We can't thank you enough.
"We were very impressed with the unusual pairings and unique menu filled with foodie terms and delicious tastings. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a lusciously divine dining experience."
"As with our first visit on Valentine's Day the Easter meal was excellent. The food was truely enjoyable and the service efficient and most pleasant. The drive to get there, through horse country, is relaxing and the mood continues throughout the course of the meal. We arrived a little early but were graciously escorted to the lounge area for a great view of the grounds and pond. We spent a very enjoyable 3 hours having a wonderful time. We'll be back agian!"
"This was our second visit to The Manor House Restaurant and we were as delighted as the first time. Both times were early afternoon so we ordered lunch. Fresh ingredients are used to create unique dishes that are enhanced by an efficient and thoughtful staff. Our next visit will be for dinner where we will enjoy the Chef's course selection."
"One of the best restaurants we've been to."
"The experience was delightful as usual. We unavoidably had to bring our 3 year old granddaughter, and while I wouldn't recommend it, the staff was wonderful in accomodating her and even asked if we would like the chef to make her something off menu. Awesome."
"We thoroughly enjoyed the Manor House and had an outstanding dinner in the large, open, warmly lit stone room. The wine choice as recommended by the chef was a very pleasant surprise. Our wait staff did an excellent job of taking care of our needs without hovering, and the courses came at the appropriate times. The food was excellent and well presented."
"a truly exceptional find. A bit out of the way but well worth the trip. My girlfriend and I went for their Valentine's Day Brunch. The food and service was exceptional making for a truly memorable occasion. The view from the table looking down onto the fields and trees is truly enjoyable. The atmosphere of this stone structure, complete with a crackling log fire, set the tone for a memorable experience. To get this view ask for the center table in front of the French doors."
"We went to the manor house for the valentine's brunch. We had our wedding here and were in full nostalgia/romance mode. it did not disappoint. the food was delicious. it's definately for foodies - with fois gras and other delacies taking center stage. everything on the menu is fresh and homemade with quality ingredients.the chef is amazing - w/interesting flavors that work well. this is the place to go if you want something special.
"The Manor House is great for any special occasion. We went for the Valentine's special and thought it was one of the best meals we've ever had. The location is beautiful, especially as a way for us to get out of the big city for a bit. The wine list is quite extensive. The food is prepared considering the most minute detail. Yum!"
"Tucked away, this historic stone building spread on acres of view. Poplar springs has the Inn, the Spa and the Manor House Restaurant. I have enjoyed the Spa and the Restaurant, though I haven't stayed at the Inn because I live within driving distance. Sometimes even for an entire day of relaxing. I usually go every couple of months because there is really no place like this in the D.C. area. The chef creates a evolving menu which can meet anyones taste. Usually, a 3 to 5 course meal. On our brunch visit, our table of 2 had; Artichoke Bisque with Fried Oysters on the side, Spicy Soup with Prawns, Omelet with Potato Gratin, Scallops and ending it all with Waffles w/Apples & Chocolate Mousse - all of this in front of a wood burning fireplace"
